Chairman of the British Virgin Islands Music Festival Committee, Daniel Cline, has disclosed that brainstorming has begun for the May 2010 event. “We have been making plans, but we are not ready to make any announcements as yet,” Cline said.
The pressure will be on for the Committee, which took over organizing the event last year, to come up with a spectacular line-up.
With regards to the financial statement for last years’ event the Chairman said, “It’s in the hands of the Premier.”
The BVI Music Festival was born out of a need to bridge the gap in the events calendar between the BVI Spring Regatta and the August Emancipation Festival with something that would satisfy both the local and tourist markets.
Held in May on Cane Garden Bay, beach patrons enjoy three days of different genres of music.
Percy Sledge, Maxi Priest, En Vogue, Daddy Yankee, Freddie Jackson, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, and Roberta Flax are among other artistes who have graced the stage at the three day event.
