Music Festival Committee begins discussions on 2010 event

image

Chairman of the British Virgin Islands Music Festival Committee, Daniel Cline, has disclosed that brainstorming has begun for the May 2010 event. “We have been making plans, but we are not ready to make any announcements as yet,” Cline said.

The pressure will be on for the Committee, which took over organizing the event last year, to come up with a spectacular line-up.

With regards to the financial statement for last years’ event the Chairman said, “It’s in the hands of the Premier.”

The BVI Music Festival was born out of a need to bridge the gap in the events calendar between the BVI Spring Regatta and the August Emancipation Festival with something that would satisfy both the local and tourist markets.

Held in May on Cane Garden Bay, beach patrons enjoy three days of different genres of music.

Percy Sledge, Maxi Priest, En Vogue, Daddy Yankee, Freddie Jackson, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, and Roberta Flax are among other artistes who have graced the stage at the three day event.

Unfortunately, I did not get to attend the CGB Music Fest last year, but I have been there for the three (3) prior years. PLEASE BRING IT BACK. AS SOON AS YOU HAVE MADE THE ARRANGEMENTS, KINDLY E-MAIL ME. MY FAMILY LOOKS FORWARD TO IT.

Notice how the ones who didn't want/support the music fest want to see report "to see where their tax $$$ went". You are nothing but a set of haters. Don't want to support, but ready to critize, "ain't" going anywhere and don't want to see anybody go somewhere. My advice, shut the hell up and keep your likes and dislikes to yourselves!!!

Love the CGB Music Fest. Can't wait for another year. It's the best venue and the most fun that can be had on the island year round. Wish we had more beach events. Bonfires, BBQ's some local entertainment...we should be making the most of these beautiful beaches and having fun
