Date set for trial of Desmond ‘DA’ Alphonso

Desmond 'DA' Alphonso covers his face as he leaves the High Court Desmond ‘DA’ Alphonso, in prison since 2006, will have his day in court on February 15, 2010.
The local businessman is accused of murdering Jamaican Christopher Bailey, who was wanted by police for the murder of Dorcas Rhule.
Bailey died from stab wounds on December 6, 2006, 12 days after being found along Paraquita public road. He had identified Alphonso as his assailant.
Lawyer Tana-ania Davis-Small will represent Alphonso at the trial, and BVI News was reliably informed that former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Terrence Williams will lead the Crown’s case.
