Andrew 'Ratty' Milton

Convicted murderer Andrew ‘Ratty’ Milton is in solitary confinement at the Territory’s prison after stabbing accused robber Kareem Durante multiple times in his torso area, BVI News was informed.

The incident occurred sometime Friday morning. Officers of East End Police Station responded to a call from prison officials.

Durante was taken to the Peebles Hospital and his wounds are believed to be superficial.

Milton is serving 35 years for murder while Durante is currently on trial for a robbery he allegedly committed on September 6, 2007 at Bat Cave Restaurant in Baugher’s Bay.

Both East End Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Durante's trial is set to resume on February 8, 2010.

This is sad and sickning. I just don't understand how a convicted murderer would be able to mix with someone on remand. I want to believe that those murderers would be among themselves. The jail is not be manage properly. Only when things happen, we get an idia of what is going on up there.Murderers should be totally seperated from everyone else. That is accept for those who have been there long time and have provened themselves that they are not a danger to other imates or the guards. It is safe to say that this guy had access to stab someone who might have been to visit their friend or family. Please make this so call jail a jail that it suppose to be and not"Holiday Inn".

I was told BVI Jail is a hotel lmao, well when a REAL BADMAN get up in there its going to turn from a hotel to hell!I hear man never get shanked in there well WELCOME to REAL jail life as i and many people know to be THUS THAT SHOULD BE THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO BE REAL TALK!......Plus i thought ..was suppose to be the regulator up there...bummer i guess not.

Wel that go to show all that starts bad must end bad, the thing is where were they an how he come about and up ject to stab tht guy, te prison is not a prison but a vacation spot, they guys have to much freedom, they are wearing gold chains, have tv an other electrical item that can be taken apart an use as a weapon that prison needs reforming to much corupt officer..
