Digicel BVI introduces groundbreaking new flat rate calling plan

Road Town, Tortola: In a groundbreaking move that is certain to bring more real benefits to cell phone customers in the British Virgin Islands, Digicel today announced the launch of a new FLAT RATE CROSS NETWORK CALLING PLAN that allows prepaid subscribers to call ANY NUMBER, ANYTIME in the BVI at the unbeatable rate of 17 cents per minute.

Effective today, Friday October 23rd, subscribers using a Digicel prepaid phone will pay substantially less when making calls to any other provider in the BVI. By comparison, this represents an up to 50% reduction in off net rates or rates to call other networks.

Digicel CEO Alan Bates stated: “Since our launch in BVI almost a year ago, Digicel has constantly introduced new calling plans, such as Free Weekends, Free International, Unlimited Voice and Data and the Caribbean Plan, to cater to the needs of residents of this territory. Today, we are delighted to bring you yet another revolutionary initiative that will underline Digicel’s commitment to ensuring that you, the customer, further benefit from telecoms liberalization.”

Bates said everyone can benefit from this new value added plan by simply topping up $20 or more every month on their prepaid phone. He said the new rate of 17 cents per minute will be automatically applied and remain in effect for the next 30 days. After 30 days, subscribers must top up another $20 or more to reactivate the plan and continue to enjoy Bigger, Better savings from The Bigger, Better Network.

Groundbreaking What???? on October 26, 2009 07:45:49 PM
If you do a double top up with CCT and you know you can all ways catch one of them it is basically costing you 10 cents for a local call. That is much better than Digicel 17 cents so tell them go way! bout them rates groundbreaking

Local Share Issue. hmm? The way I see it - it was your same Mins Frazer who made it possible for Digicel to come here. They sued us the people of the BVI to have the right to come in our small country with them bull. Granted CCT offers the local share but it was still C&W that made it possible for anyone to call period. It was them who invested in the infrustructure we have and continue to invest in making it better ... Local share doesn't make the service better as you can see CCT service has been crap for years so I'm not sure where all that investment money going. And all you who proud to own shares ... what are your returns anyway when they giving away free credit all the time ...and not developing there network.

You companies come to the BVI just to exploit the people. With your front men. Give the people a share in your business then come let us talk. Otherwise you are just another Lime. Here to exploit and use! Go back to where you came from! #######

Ok so if I top up $20 to make local calls... How much more I have to top up to call anywhere else? I might call Jamaica and run out my $20 well fast ... so I have to top up some more

Digi crap! Why i must top up $20 every 30 days with Digi when I could just put $50 on my phone at LIME and talk for less than 1 cent per minute and call the BVI and throughout the Caribbean. All Talk offers the better value!
