Mask men enter police station?

image * Road Town Police Station

Police are investigating the theft of a motorbike from the Road Town police station, allegedly by three masked men.

Reports are that late last week, members of the Royal Virgn Islands Police force confiscated an illegal motorbike and took it to the police station where it was stored inside the stations.

On Saturday night, it is alleged that three masked men carrying fireams entered the police station from the back and removed the bike without the knowledge of any police officers.  Sources say the theft was captured on tape but as the survellance monitor at the station is not working, the officers at the front desk could not see who was entering or leaving the compound through the side gate.

What goes around comes around - You so call officers who trying their best to set up DA. Tell me how does it feel like to have the lion in your den while you were busy trying to nail DA---Keep this in mind >>> Watchmen are blind, they are ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark, sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber... Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are the Police Officers that cannot understand, they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Will not see that No weapon that is formed against DA shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against DA in judgement thou shall condemn.....This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, said the Lord...

The COP needs to sit down and shut his mouth instead of letting dem boys down in ADVIL run the FORCE to dem liking he should sit down and listen to his officers who work at the main officeand know what's really going on in their every day job. where were the men in blue who were suppose to be working? another thing what can two officers do to protect themselves without firearms. RUN RUN RUN leave the force to them boys who have the cards to carry home their guns.

Personally, the message of three masked men entering an unsecured police station sounds humiliating to the entire police force; however, in the absence of "Security" everything is opened to the public, especially thieves.

The issue here is not really the men entering the station, because as far as i can see, any person, whether masked, unmasked or otherwise has free access to whatever section of the RVIPF. The real issue at hand is the inability of the team responsible to erect security measures, like reinstalling the electronic gate and doors are (1) too busy using the police resources for their own personal gain, (2) manipulating and misleading the COP to get to a higher rank - when they cannot perform in a substantive post (3) on edge to incriminate their own officers instead of protecting them, that they forget to do their very jobs: secure the police station.

The public has all right to distrust the police, because, face it, if they cannot protect their own, how can they protect others? They may come up with a strategic reason and claim that they were busy protecting others that they did not have time to do their own, a bunch of cow-down.

I believe the force has in place a force armorer, a so-called trainer, incumbent on blue, green or yellow card, but he is steering the 2009 technologically human resource equipped force with an antique mentality, misleading the COP who has some faith in his spoken abilities. This trainer seem to believe that a $525 pistol is more expensive than an officer's life, which the same force invested approximately $17,500 to prepare a constable at training school, and is paying the officer a yearly salary of some $25,000.

Sir, the criminal has full access to weapons, what makes you think that any other person can't. If the criminal knows where to find one, the police force needs to realize that the 18th century .38 or Glock pistols cannot replace an officer's life, but can be used to protect it.

Finally, the RVIPF seem to be at a standstill. However, with the passage of time, the turning over of years, the Department is not really stagnant, but it is in fact moving backward.

Officers, keep your hopes high as your hat on your head. Hold strong to the unchanging hands of the Almighty God. If the team responsible for securing the surroundings at which you are posted, don't allow a would-be criminal to end your life. The uniform is just cloth, not steel, and it's a color that signifies the RVIPF. Pull yourself out of harm's way, run if you have to, and protect yourself.

I hope the public is watching carefully. If the police cannot protect thier own yard; how can they protect the public. Then too, if the men were armed, what could the on duty officers do, knowing that they were unharmed. When the comish publicly and proudly states that the force is an unarmed force...the officers are vulnerable and same is the safety of the public. Luckily, this is the BVI, but trust me this country can be taken over easily. So, seeing that we are left to the mercy of the world, lets keep on praying...

police force in trouble the public in troublel on July 23, 2009 07:28:17 PM
if they are in fear of their lives what do you think. the public in fear also. high way robery at the police station which should be the most secured place to run to. Please open your eyes dont you know john public will take shelter for themselves if nothing is done. This does not send a good message Mr. Comissioner.

this is the festive season cirtainly this is not a good message to john public. it is sad to hear that the back gate not working. people jumping fence and entering the station. three offers on duty, one on break we should be more observant. the necessary tools must be in place for officers to work with. invest into better and hightech security systems. time is swiftly changing you must be able to keep up to speed. other wise criminals will get the better hand of you. dont slacken your ride now.

wake up you people some home sleeping in comfort others on the firing line and they are not secure. Mr. commissioner this is not good. investigating this matter is not enough at this time. Mr. Govenor this thing is serious talking is not enough, security is important and this needs urgent attention. Mr. Premier oh what a crisis this thing is a mess and sad. this news is all over the world. If Police in trouble, Citizens are in trouble needless to talk about Tourism. sad sad sad please get your act together and do what is necessary now, not later.

I agree with you... The police let us know FAAAAAAR too much. As if it wasn't bad enough to hear that the police station was robbed... they put an entry o ZBVI news this morning about being AFRAID FOR THEIR lives at Road Town Police Station. OMG It does not take a rocket science degree to know that regardless of how fearful you are, you cannot let criminals know that you are not ready to combat them!!! o gooosh. "ONLY IN TORTOLA" ... and I really think that tourist board should work on changing our slogan to "only in the BVI" ... cause it suits us and we ain no secret no more.

I as an ex-security guard was taught OBSERVATION as being one of the MOST important thing as an officer.Officers at NO time should your guard be so let down for this to happen.A small station like that one ,three officers and no one saw nor heard anything, how STRANGE.Officers take a minute and look at this as an example the guns could have been turned on you , BE MORE OBSERVANT and STAY SAFE!

Hey whoever the person is that responded to the police woman saying crime only been on a rampage the last 3 years must have been in a coma for the past ten years then. Are you kidding saying that because the criminals are well armed the police should not be armed because the criminals will get more armed....you must be a lunatic then...its this same kinda foolish thinking making things go from bad to worse. But as usual somebody important has to be slaughtered for us to change things here...what if they just decided to just go any open fire on those cops for the fun of it?

Whoever the police woman is that responded is a fool. She of all people should know that we are governed by the Queen of England and in England the police there do not carry weapons either. It is only lately for the past 3 years or so, crime is on the rampage. If the police arm themselves, the criminals who already are more armed than the military will somehow get more weapons. Our little island doesn't need that.

I think this is very shameful but it goes to show that the public knows too much information about the police runnings. I hear that the thieves entered the station over the back wall and came to the front of the station and then went back to the back. I also hear that only 3 police were on duty at the police station that night. Dem thieves must know that the Police Commissioner refuse to give his officers weapons to protect themselves and the country so they aint fraid to go in there cause they have. You cant send a painter to paint your house and he aint got no paint so I dont understand how you want police to protect you and the country without the proper equipment. Commissioner arm your officers so that they will have the same or better advantage against the criminals they encounter. FRASER arm the Police please!!!!!!

I MUST SAY I WORKED THERE FOR FOUR YEARS AND THAT WAS MY MAIN CONCERN WHEN I WAS THERE. I BROUGHT IT UP ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS ABOUT PROTECTING THE FRONT AND LEAVING YOUR BACK EXPOSE. ALSO PEOPLE ARE LET INTO THE STATION AND NO ONE MONITORS WHERE THEY GO AND WHAT THEY DO. ALL IT TAKES IS WHAT JUST HAPPEN JUST NOW TO OPEN THEIR EYES. GOOD THING NO ONE WAS HURT. YOU SEE IN MOUR COMMUNITY WHEN WE STIGMATISE CERTAIN PEOPLE AND DONT LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY THIS IS WHAT IT MLEADS TO.

THEY HAVE EMPLOYED A FACILITIES MANAGER THAT DOES NOT EVEN KNOW HIS ASS FROM HIS ELBOW, HE DOES NOT
EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 2" GALV'D NAIL AND 2' WIRE NAIL. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WE PUT INFRONT OF THE LOCALS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCE.FOUR (4) LOCALS APPLIED FOR THAT JOB WHO HAS VAST EXPERIENCE AND NONE WAS GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE INTERVIEWED. THAT ALSO WHY ONE OF THE MOST EXPERIENCE WORKER IN THE FIELD RESIGNED AS EACH TIME HE VOICED HIS OPINION HE WAS CONSIDERED A TROUBLE LIKE T MAKER AND SOMEONE THAT DID NOT WANT TO WORK. THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS A GREAT DEAL OF EXPERIENCE THAT MOST OF US DONT KNOW, ALL THAT WAS SAID BOUT HIM WAS HIS BACKGOUND OF MISTAKES HE MADE IN LIFE.I DO HOPE THEY GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVE AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE INNOCENT PEOPLE GET HURT.
