Driver leads police on high speed chase

image

It is not clear at this moment what, if anything was confiscated from the green Suzuki jeep that gave the police a run today.

When BVI news arrived on the scene of the chase’ end we found numerous police officers circling the vehicle that appeared to be locked and propped on the sidewalk between the National Bank of the Virgin Islands and the public road.

BVI news understands that suspicions prompted the police to attempt to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not comply and a hot pursuit resulted.

It was also disclosed that the police has one of the passengers in custody as they try to locate the other who is said to have fled the scene leaving behind what appears to be marijuana.

do we expext the cops to relax and island get more violent? on July 28, 2009 10:11:08 AM
seek out and sift out those foolishness that is bound up in the heart of our people, too long we were laid back, we sit by and let things happen, turn a blind eye. friend or family it is time to come to reality. we have a lot of ills in our community. time to speak out and up let your voice echo even if it people dont like you for it. it may cost you tears and pain.

we can sit back and talk talk talk but there is no walk with the talk.

the talk is let the police find the murderers and stop doing foolishness. yes some times they do foolishness but the high speed chase was not foolishness. in any other country you go police do high speed chase so what is the problem? is it because we have 2x4 roads. come on people wise up its not the norm hear but with a growing community you have to ecpect growing pains. some of us on the road driving hear the ambulance and we turn a dief ear to the sound. some times we slow up the process for them to pass next thing you hear someone did not make it to hospital they died before the ambulance reach. them come to find out its a relative they were going for. Tell me would that not hurt you. it is the same way the cops trying to stop a crimonal and we get in their way, the criminal gorn scott free and no where to be found. next thing we hear he or she kill or injured some one, not only that they injured or kill one in our family.

tell me how would you and i feel. open your eyes people can't you see how many block out vehicles including buses carring passengers are on the road.
the traffic law needs to be ammended no tints at all. time is critical we cant stop every thing but we can clamp down on a lot of things.

people if you see me going wrong and you claim to be my friend love me enough to tell me or show me my faults. i may not accept it but you have done your part. hopefully one day i will come to my senses before its to late.

parents we make a child or children and some times try our very best with them but we didn't make their minds. we try to stear them in the right direction. we don't spend enought time and effort with them some times trying to make ends meet, food, clothing, shelter schooling. most times we miss the key thing, not enough love sad to say. they tend to go where they can find it and get them selves involved in all sorts of bad things searching for love, affection and acceptance. we must face the fact as a father, mother, aunt uncle grand parents, god parents community we are to blame it takes fore than a parent to raise a child its a community effort. look at the olden days. its monern days today but if as parents we hold on to some values of the olden days we would be a lot better

Well sah here we go again. In true BVI way. People making comments about the things they seeing and doing nothing. When aya goin' be honest with aya selves and admit, that we want to be free, peaceful, and drugfree. When are we as a people going to Stand up and say Enough is Enough and Make a Change starting with the way that we Raise our children. Show them respect for life, love for themselves and mankind. When are we going to stop being friends with our children and step up and Be their Parents. When...it's 2009 and we still ain't moving forward...

Who is to Blame? Of course it's the parents because they are supposed to raise you. And since you live in this Community it also falls on us as a community to play our part as well, so that children as raised right. And when there is a problem we should realise that someone somewhere dropped the baton. It's time we got back to grass roots and raise these children correctly. It is very easy to raise children right, be the kind of people that we want them to be. If you know that you aren't doing that, start.

A lot of you are bashing law enforcement. DeeDonovan if you know of soo much drug dealing in plain view why don't you MANUP and call the police? Just blabbing about what is happening and doing nothing is a waste of time letting out hot air.All Highspeed chases are dangerous whether its here in Road Town or in the spread out Highways of the united states, but when ignorance is BLISS it is usually a FOLLY to be WISE.

You sound so stupid when a police stop you you should stop..no matter where you are or what you do. If they run the police is going to assume its something serious why you running. So of course they going chase the man down..GOOD JOB BVI Police...use this as motivation to solve all those murders now. I saw the chase and it was very dangerous many people could have been hurt because of that suzuki. The police were doing their job

A high speed chase over some marijuana? Good grief. What about them crack and heroin dealers? When we gonna chase them down and put them out of business? Theyare dealing right on the beach and in the street in broad daylight with no worries at all.
